The gig economy is on the rise, offering new ways to work and make money. People now have the flexibility to work when they want, how they want and where they want, with the option to make on-demand work a primary job or a secondary paycheck. The future of work is here and Gigwalk investigated what we should expect.
To gain a better understanding of the gig economy we conducted a survey, turning to those with the most insight — the workers! The survey polled over 1,000 people across the United States who identify as freelancers or on-demand workers. The survey reveals details on their attitudes towards on-demand work, the types of jobs being performed and predictions for the future of work. Questions answered include:
